The solubility of pure ammonium diuranate in ammonium sulfite was analyzed with the purpose of determining the factors and conditions conducive to the separation of uranium. The effects of (NH/sub 4/)/sub 2/SO/sub 3/ concentration, temperature, and the ratio of humid diuranate to liquid on solubility at 80 deg C were studied. The results show that the ammonium sulfite method will produce U/sub 3/O8/sub /th negligible admixtures.>i (R.V.J.)
