Comparative effects of 50 KVP and 250 KVP x-rays on the dog

The leukocyte response of dogs exposed to 50-kv x rays of whole-body irradiation exhibits a similar response to that seen in dogs receiving upper-body exposure of more penetrating x rays in lower total dose. This is considered to be due to the capacity of unirradiated bone marrow to respond to the stimulus of gross infection.
