THE INFLUENCE OF COMBINED RADIATION ON THE ACTIVITY OF LACTIC ACID DEHYDROGENASE AND ON BLOOD FORM (in German)

Lactic acid dehydrogenase activity was determined in rats after percutanous irradiation with 100 and 600 r, after intravenous administration of 100 mu C and after combined external and internal irradiation (600 r + 100 mu C and 100 r + 100 mu C). Changes in elements of the peripheral blood were investigated, also. An activity increase of lactic acid dehydrogenase was observed during the 4 week period of observation in those groups that had received combined internal and external irradiation. This activity increase is explained as caused by protracted damage to the hematopoietic system by combined irradiation. (auth)
