On Spontaneous Fission of Element 102 Isotope With Mass Number 256; O SPONTANNOM DELENII IZOTOPA 102-GO ELEMENTA S MASSOVYM CHISLOM 256

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4010330
Uranium-238 on a sloping target was bombarded with an intensive flux of neon-22 ions in the internnal beam of the 310-cm cyclotron. Using the semiconductor counters the spontaneous-fission fragmerts were recorded. The effect observed is accounted for by the radioactive decay of the 102/sup 256/ isotope produced in the reaction U/sup 238/(Ne/sup 22/ 4n)102/sup 2 The spontaneous-fission haif life T/sub sf/ of 102/sup 256/ was found to be 1500 s.
