High resolution study of Ar 2p {r_arrow} ns, d resonant Auger transitions using the Auger resonant Raman effect
- Universite Paris, Orsay (France)
The Auger resonant Raman effect has been used as a tool to produce high resolution spectra of argon exemplifying the Ar 2p {r_arrow} ns, d resonant Auger transitions. By applying this method in tandem with a third generation synchrotron radiation source, the intensity distribution of spectator Auger transitions has been measured with sufficient resolution to separate fine-structure effects. Quantitative results include the resonant behavior of the total cross section as well as that of the angular distribution anisotropy parameter {beta}. The data for this study were collected at the undulator beamline 9.0.1 of the Advanced Light Source (ALS) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in September of 1995.
