NMR and spin echo measurements were performed on dilute samples of {sup 187}Os and {sup 189}Os in Fe. The magnetic hyperfine splitting frequencies {nu}{sub {ital M}}={vert_bar}{ital g}{mu}{sub {ital N}}B{sub HF}{sup (eff)}/{ital h}{vert_bar} at 4.2 K were determined to be 111.17(1) and 371.00(5) MHz for {sup 187}Os{ital Fe} and {sup 189}Os{ital Fe}, respectively. Taking into account the known magnetic moments, the hyperfine anomaly is deduced to be {sup 187}{Delta}{sub Fe}{sup 189} = +0.0195(2), which is of opposite sign and much smaller than expected theoretically. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
