Heating with gas: Revised edition. Home heating and cooling series number 3 (in English; French)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:362264
This publication begins with details of a four-step decision making process for selecting a home heating system. It then describes the basic heating equipment used in gas-fired systems, both forced-air and hydronic. Ways to upgrade or improve performance of installed gas-fired heating systems are discussed. This is followed by a description of newer mid- and high-efficiency gas furnaces; description of other gas heating options, including room heaters and gas fireplaces; an explanation (with examples) of how to calculate heating costs; and information on the mechanics of buying, installing, or upgrading a gas-fired heating system. The final chapters discuss heating system maintenance and gas-fired domestic water heaters.
