Heating with oil: Revised edition. Home heating and cooling series number 4 (in English; French)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:362261
This publication begins with details of a four-step decision making process for selecting a home heating system. It then describes the basic heating equipment used in oil-fired systems, both forced-air and hydronic. Ways to upgrade or improve performance of installed oil-fired heating systems are discussed. This is followed by a description of newer high-efficiency oil-burning furnaces, an explanation (with examples) of how to calculate heating costs, and information on the mechanics of buying, installing, or upgrading an oil heating system. The final chapters discuss heating system maintenance and oil-fired domestic water heaters.
