We present a measurement of the {ital W} boson mass using data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron during 1994{endash}1995. We identify {ital W} bosons by their decays to e{nu} final states. We extract the {ital W} mass M{sub W} by fitting the transverse mass and transverse electron momentum spectra from a sample of 28thinsp323 W{r_arrow}e{nu} decay candidates. We use a sample of 3563 dielectron events, mostly due to Z{r_arrow}ee decays, to constrain our model of the detector response. From the transverse mass fit we measure M{sub W}=80.44{plus_minus}0.10(stat){plus_minus}0.07(syst)thinsp GeV. Combining this with our previously published result from data taken in 1992{endash}1993, we obtain M{sub W}=80.43{plus_minus}0.11thinspGeV. {copyright} {ital 1998} {ital The American Physical Society}
