Title: A Measurement of the {ital W} Boson Mass at the Fermilab p{bar p} Collider

We report a measurement of the {ital W} boson mass based on an integrated luminosity of 82 pb{sup {minus}1} from p{bar p} collisions at {radical}(s)=1.8 TeV recorded in 1994{endash}1995 by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. We identify {ital W} bosons by their decays to e{nu} and extract the mass by fitting the transverse mass spectrum from 28323{ital W} boson candidates. A sample of 3563dielectron events, mostly due to Z{r_arrow}ee decays, constrains models of {ital W} boson production and the detector. We measure M{sub W}=80.44{plus_minus}0.10(stat){plus_minus} 0.07(syst) GeV . By combining this measurement with our result form the 1992{endash}1993 data set, we obtain M{sub W}=80.43{plus_minus}0.11 GeV . {copyright} {ital 1998} {ital The American Physical Society}
