{ital g}-factor measurement of {sup 132}Ba in the backbending region

The time differential perturbed angular distribution (TDPAD) technique has been utilized to measure the {ital g} factor of the 10{sup +} state of {sup 132}Ba. The {sup 132}Ba nucleus was produced in the reaction {sup 124}Sn({sup 12}C,4{ital n}){sup 132}Ba using a pulsed carbon beam. The experimentally obtained value of the {ital g} factor (={minus}0.159{plus_minus}0.005) compares well with the theoretical estimate for the neutron character of the state.
