The nuclear [ital g] factor of the 14 ns 21/2[sup +] isomeric state in [sup 89]Nb has been measured using time differential perturbed [gamma]-ray angular distribution (TDPAD) method following pulsed heavy-ion reaction and recoil implantation. From the observed spin precession frequency [omega][sub [ital L]] in ferromagnetic Ni host, we obtain the [ital g] factor [ital g](21/2[sup +])=0.324(7). The measured value is in good agreement with our shell model analysis carried out using the effective [ital g] factors for proton particles and neutron holes in the [ital g][sub 9/2] orbitals.
