A committee of experts in nondestructive evaluation of steam generator tubes representing utilities and inspection vendors from the US and abroad has revised the PWR Steam Generator Examination Guidelines, Revision 3, November 1992. This 4th revision is based on the committee`s review of NDE research data, industry-wide plant NDE experience, and plant operating experiences. The revised document is in two volumes. Volume 1, ``Guidelines,`` provides specific guidance and represents the consensus recommendations of the committee. Volume 2, ``Technical Basis,`` contains the supporting technical data. This document is intended to provide a reference for utilities to develop and implement an effective and reliable steam generator tube inspection program.
