Feasibility study report (outdoor) Army Materials Technology Laboratory. Volume 1. Technical. Final report 1990-January 1996
This report is one of three reports that address technologies and remedial action alternatives that may be applied to the U.S. Army Materials Technology Laboratory (MTh) in Watertown, Massachusetts. This report discusses on-site outdoor areas (soil and groundwater). This report uses the results from the site Remedial Investigation and risk assessments for human health and ecological receptors. From this information, site cleanup goals and areas to be remediated were established. A variety of remedial technologies were identified and evaluated. Those applicable technologies were assembled into site remedial action alternatives. These alternatives were then evaluated in detail using CERCLA criteria. These criteria include overall protection of human health and the environment, compliance with applicable or relevant and appropriate requirements (ARARs), short-term effectiveness, long-term effectiveness and permanence, reduction of toxicity, mobility, and volume of contaminants through treatment, implementability, and cost.
