This presentation focuses on some of the changes underway in the alternative fuels market, particularly in the Asia Pacific and Latin American regions. The use of compressed natural gas, propane, methanol, ethanol and electricity for automotive fuels in vehicles in these parts of the world is described. The use of biofuels and solar hydrogen through fuel cell technologies is probably still two decades away. A global outlook on the use of reformulated gasolines and other cleaner fuels is presented.
