Measurement of the Gottfried Sum Rule by the NMC group at CERN suggests significant differences between up and down antiquark distributions in the proton. It appears that perturbative QCD cannot account for such large differences; thus attention has focused on nonperturbative mechanisms. `Meson-cloud` models seem capable of producing differences between antiquark distributions which agree in magnitude and sign with the NMC results. We review the current theoretical situation regarding meson-cloud models and their predictions. Models have been produced which avoid inconsistencies of previous methods. Such models account for between half, and all, the up-down sea quark differences necessary to explain the NMC results. These models also predict rather dramatic effects for Drell-Yan processes in {ital pp} and {ital pn} reactions. Drell-Yan experiments would provide an important test of meson-cloud models. {copyright} {ital 1995} {ital American} {ital Institute} {ital of} {ital Physics}.
