Edition of the GRI baseline projection methodology and assumptions: 1993. Topical report, December 1992

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:139603
Methodology employed in producing the 1993 Edition of the Gas Research Institute Baseline Projection is documented. The baseline integrates the results of several modeling methods. The various models and their interaction are described in the overview of the methodology. Energy demand analysis is given for the residential, commercial, industrial, transportation, and electric utility sectors, along with the supply and price analysis for electricity. For the entire electric utility sector the DRI Energy Model is used, whereas the supply analysis for natural gas, oil, coal, and renewable fuels is done in several other models. The methodology for the DRI Refinery Model, a linear program designed to produce the petroleum products price and supply forecast, is explained. The supply analysis for the non-petroleum primary fuels includes an examination of the manner in which fuel prices are modeled. The report concludes with details of the changes to the 1993 Edition of the GRI Baseline Projection.
