Quasi-free {sup 16}O({pi}{sup +},{gamma}p){sup 15}O

Triple differential cross sections d{sup 3}{sigma}/d{Omega}{sub gamma}d{Omega}{sub p}dE{gamma} for low-lying states corresponding to the quasi-free removal of a single nucleon from the p-shell were measured at four proton angles, two photon angles, and beam energies of T{sub {pi}}{sup +} = 165, 220 MeV. The choice of {sup 16}O was dictated by the fact that it is a tractable target for {Delta}-hole model calculations. Quasi-free {sup 16}O({pi}{sup +},{gamma}p){sup 15}O data would provide an important test for medium modifications and reaction mechanisms in photoproduction reactions. A comparison of calculations to the data will indicate how well the process of radiative capture is understood in the nuclear medium. Preliminary cross sections and corresponding DWIA calculations for ({pi}{sup +},{gamma}p) data will be presented.
