Title: The parallel performance of a groundwater flow code on the Cray T3D

Conference ·
OSTI ID:10193851

This paper summarizes some preliminary results on the parallel performance of ParFlow, a new code for the numerical simulation of groundwater flow through three-dimensional heterogeneous porous media. At present, this code is capable of simulating groundwater flow for large sites (10{sup 7} spatial zones) on a variety of distributed memory MIMD machines. The computational kernels are described briefly and their parallel performance is examined on the Cray T3D massively parallel computer using Cray`s implementation of the PVM message-passing library.
