The coincidence reactions 3,4He (e,e'K+) YX, where Y is a Λ or Σ hyperon, were measured in experiment E91-016 at Jefferson Laboratory. These coincidence measurements were taken for Q2 = 0.35 GeV2/c2 at θγK=0 degrees, 6 degrees, and 12 degrees for an angular distribution. The recently acquired data extend the study of the kaon quasifree production mechanism from deuterium to 4He, the most dense nucleus available. The elementary reaction, p(e,e'K+)Λ(Σ0), provided a comparison for the measurement on 3,4He, and of the Lambda/Sigma0 production ratio. This ratio remaining the same for the quasifree production on 3,4 He was an assumption used to separate the missing mass distribution for Sigma-. Further investigation of the 3,4 He missing mass distributions lead to the search of hyperon bound states.
