Title: Performance evaluation of the New Mexico State University passive-solar house. Final report

The New Mexico State University Passive Solar Test Facility is a roof-pond solar house in which the collection and rejection of energy from the interior space is controlled by movable insulating panels. The results of 1981 and 1982 cooling season tests are presented in this report. The specific objectives of this project were to evaluate the effects of deflated air cells over the water bags; changing the water depth in the bags from 7.5 to 15 cm (3 to 6 inches); evaporative enhancement of the heat rejection from the bags; and the panel movement control on the performance of the system. The variation in performance due to changes in these four parameters was to be evaluated in the cooling mode of operation only. The results of the tests designed to evaluate these parameters are reported. A Master Thesis and a data are appended.
