Effect of processing conditions on the reliability of cross-linked polyethylene cable insulation. First year report
Progress is reported in crystallization and morphology, treed cables, and cable production on the reliability of cross-linked polyethylene cable insulation. Scanning electron microscopy of polished surfaces etched with carbon tetrachloride vapor, differential scanning calorimetry and x-ray diffraction were used for morphological investigations until recently when good results have been obtained using the technique of permanganic acid etching.
