Demolition of Facility 9404-18, Demineralizer Facility
This CERCLA Screen has been prepared to request facility 9404-18, Demineralizer Facility, and associated contents, tanks, and piping, be removed from CERCLA oversight. 9404-18 is a non-process, non-mercury use Alpha-5 Complex ancillary facility within the West End Mercury Area, southeast of the Alpha-5 building (Figure 1). 9404-18 is not explicitly listed in Appendix C of the Federal Facility Agreement, but its inclusion is implied, as “Alpha-5 Complex” is listed in Appendix C. Similarly, 9404-18 is part of the “Alpha-5 Complex” list of facilities in the Action Memorandum for the Y-12 Facilities Non-Time-Critical Removal Action Deactivation/Demolition Project (DOE/OR/01-2462&D2).
