DNB performance with modified FY19-GEN1 tests [Slides]

GEN1 boiling model is developed to assess the DNB prediction performance for ”high pressure” flow test, showing “consistent under-prediction”. Based on lessons learned from previous DNB test, a modified boiling model is proposed and tested for high pressure application. For selected tests, modified GEN1 boiling model shows improved DNB performance. Interestingly, DNB performance become poor when the subcooled level is high. More-like PWR condition (High pressure, low subcooled condition), the CASL GEN1 boiling modeling predict the DNB with reasonable accuracy.
