Radiological Engineering Design Analysis of the NDA Table Shielding Configuration
- Los Alamos National Lab. (LANL), Los Alamos, NM (United States)
This document provides an evaluation of the radiological design of the NDA table shielding configuration, which to date has not been analyzed by Radiological Engineering. The purpose of this analysis is to determine compliance with the Department of Energy radiation protection requirements specified in 10 CFR §835 [1] and the LANL specific requirements specified in Chapter 12 of P121 [2] and Chapter 11 of the Engineering Standards Manual (ESM) [3]. An evaluation was required due to the potential for dose rates to exceed 0.5 mrem h-1 during routine operations prior to applying engineered controls [2].
