Integrated Program of Excellence in Nuclear Medicine and Radiochemistry. September 1, 2012 - August 31, 2017
- Univ. of Pittsburgh, PA (United States)
The overall goal of the “Integrated Program of Excellence in Nuclear Medicine and Radiochemistry Research” at the University of Pittsburgh was to provide an intensive training experience in radiochemistry and nuclear medicine applications for up to 7 postdoctoral researchers (Ph.D.; two years each) and up to 6 medical fellows (M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.; one year each). The primary training occurred in the Department of Radiology under the leadership of radiochemists, radiopharmaceutical scientists and clinicians. The radiochemistry experience focused on the development of novel radiochemistry towards the development of radiotracers for PET imaging of disease. In addition to mentoring PhD and MD level trainees, we developed a course through the Nuclear Engineering Program at the University of Pittsburgh that was either audited or taken as pass/fail by the trainees.
