Higher Order Magnet Field Multipoles Aperture Effects, and Tracking Studies
- Brookhaven National Lab. (BNL), Upton, NY (United States)
Conclusions gleaned from the RHIC study on higher order magnet field mulitpoles are as follows: ASL ≈ 17mm result from systematic bk; there is a possibility of choosing lower bk to improve ASL. bk=0 is not necessarily the optimum solution; and it is important to watch out for very large magnets with a higher bk.
