As of mid-June 1982, a two-shaft version of this new Ruston engine on factory test had logged some 20 hr of running and 200 fired starts - achieving full load on both gas and distillate fuels. The 6-MW Tornado is designed for cogeneration of heat and electric power at industrial sites.
