Scottish distillery replaces boilers with Tornado CHP

Ruston's first Tornado installation in the UK is now in service with Scottish Grain Distillers in a combined heat and power (CHP) plant at their Port Dundas distillery near Glasgow. The plant replaces two oil-fired package boilers with the combination of the Tornado gas turbine - which is ISO base rated at 5.8 Mw output - and unfired waste heat recovery boiler. Resultant energy savings is expected to be worth slightly more than pounds 0.5 million per year given the distillery's current production schedule. Plant specific are given.
