Lead calcium titanate nanoparticles (PCT-NPs) were synthesized by the modified sol-gel method. The mixed metal alkoxide precursor was prepared by moderate refluxing using lead acetate, calcium acetate, titanium iso-propoxide and 2-methoxyethanol. The properties of PCT-NPs were studied as a function of calcination temperatures. Results from the powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) and thermal analysis (TGA/DTA), indicated that the single-phase perovskite PCT-NPs were obtained after heat treatment at temperature of 700 deg. C. The average particle size of synthesized PCT-NPs was found to be around 30 nm from transition electron microscopy (TEM).
