Policy Information

Established in 1947, OSTI fulfills agency responsibilities related to the collection, preservation, and dissemination of scientific and technical information emanating from R&D performed by DOE and predecessor agencies, the Atomic Energy Commission and the Energy Research and Development Administration. This responsibility has been codified in the organic, or enabling, legislation of DOE and predecessor agencies (see https://www.osti.gov/stip/about/statutory-authorities).
