Abstract

The 2001-2002 Southern California Regional Travel Survey collected data on household characteristics and travel behavior to update regional travel demand models. It covered six counties including Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura. The Southern California Association of Governments contracted with NuStats Partners to conduct the survey following the 2000 decennial census. Survey data collection occurred in 2001 and 2002 using computer-assisted telephone interviewing and travel diaries. Roughly 17,000 households completed the survey. An additional global positioning system (GPS) sample was taken for the purpose of auditing the self-reported diaries. Battelle provided data collection support for the GPS sample.

2002-2015 Texas Regional Travel Surveys

From 2002-2015, multiple household travel surveys were conducted across Texas in Abilene, Austin, Bryan-College Station, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Houston/Galveston, Laredo, Midland/Odessa, Rio Grande Valley, San Angelo, San Antonio, Texarkana, Tyler/Longview, and Wichita Falls. In coordination with the Texas Transportation Institute, the Texas Department of Transportation conducted the surveys. The travel surveys incorporated a global positioning system technology-based travel diary component.
2002 St. Louis Region Travel Survey

The 2002 St. Louis Household Travel Survey entailed the collection of weekday travel behavior characteristics of households residing in each of the eight counties that comprise the St. Louis region. 2002 Maricopa Regional Household Travel Survey

The Maricopa Regional Household Travel Survey was conducted by NuStats from February through December 2001 under the auspices of the Maricopa Association of Governments. The purpose of the survey was to obtain information related to travel behavior. The 2000-2001 California Statewide Household Travel Survey, conducted under the auspices of the California Department of Transportation, was conducted between October 2000 and December 2001 among households located in each of California's 58 counties. 2001 KIPDA Regional Household Travel Survey

The Kentuckiana Planning and Development Agency (KIPDA) conducted this four-month study from October 2000 through January 2001 to update regional travel demand models. The universe for the survey consisted of households in the five-county Louisville transportation planning study area, including Clark and Floyd counties in Indiana and Bullitt, Jefferson, and Oldham counties in Kentucky.
