Weak decays of D mesons into pseudoscalar-pseudoscalar (PP), pseudoscalar-vector (PV), and vector-vector (VV) mesons are considered using the method of phenomenological chiral Lagrangians. Calculated branching ratios for these decays are compared with the available theoretical and experimental data. 32 refs., 1 fig., 3 tabs.
