Proceedings: 6th BOP HX NDE Symposium
The BOP (balance-of-plant) HX (heat exchanger) NDE (nondestructive examination) symposium has been held biennially since 1990. The sixth symposium, which took place in Scottsdale, Arizona, on June 19-21, 2000, consisted of short courses, technical paper presentations, and a technology fair. The 170-plus attendees included representatives from domestic and overseas nuclear utilities, petrochemical processing industries, NDE service and equipment organizations, heat exchanger manufacturers and inspection/repair organizations, research and university laboratories, and regulatory bodies. This meeting provided an opportunity for plant managers, engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel to exchange lessons learned and owner experiences. The latest heat exchanger issues, as well as advances in NDE technologies applicable to balance-of-plant heat exchangers, were discussed.
