Measurements of the Branching Fractions of Charged B Decays to K+-pi-+pi+- Final States

The authors present results of searches for B-meson decays to K{sup +} {pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup +} with the BABAR detector. With a data sample of 61.6 million B{bar B} pairs, they measure the branching fractions and 90% confidence-level upper limits averaged over charge-conjugate states (the first error is statistical and the second is systematic): {Beta}(B{sup +} {yields} K*{sup 0}(892){pi}{sup +}) = (15.5 {+-} 1.8{sub -4.0}{sup +1.5}) x 10{sup -6}, {Beta}(B{sup +} {yields} f{sub 0}(980)K{sup +}, f{sub 0} {yields} {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}) = (9.2 {+-} 1.2{sub -2.6}{sup +2.1}) x 10{sup -6}, {Beta}(B{sup +} {yields} {bar D}{sup 0} {yields} K{sup +}{pi}{sup -}) = (184.6 {+-} 3.2 {+-} 9.7) x 10{sup -6}, {Beta}(B{sup +} {yields} {rho}{sup 0}(770)K{sup +}) < 6.2 x 10{sup -6} and {Beta}(B{sup +} {yields} K{sup +} {pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup +} non-resonant) < 17 x 10{sup -6}.
