Production of long-lived tellurium isomers in (n, {gamma}) reactions

The cross sections for the absorption of thermal neutrons and the resonant integral for (n, {gamma}) reactions leading to the production of the tellurium isomers {sup 123m,125m,127m,129m}Te are measured by the cadmium difference method. A large difference between the measured cross section for the adsorption of thermal neutrons and its tabular value is discovered for {sup 125m}T. To within the experimental errors, the isomeric ratios for reactions involving thermal neutrons are the same for {sup 123m,125m,129m}Te, while the value obtained for {sup 127}Te is found to be much smaller. 13 refs., 3 figs., 4 tabs.
