The Waste Minimization Assessment Center (WMAC) team at the University of Louisville performed an assessment at a plant manufacturing cylinders for rotogravure printing. Rotogravure printing cylinders are produced from new stock and used cylinders that require reworking. The assessment team`s report, detailing findings and recommendations, indicated that significant cost savings could be achieved by melting and reusing copper scrap as anodes in the plating bath.
