The authors wish to report the preparation and crystal structure of a new member of this class of compounds in which tetrahydrofuran is coordinated to a triruthenium carbonyl cluster. In the course of preparing a series of mixed-metal complexes containing ruthenium and indium the authors were able to isolate an appreciable yield of Ru{sub 3}({mu}-Cl){sub 2}(THF){sub 2}(CO){sub 8} (THF = tetrahydrofuran) as a stable crystalline material. This compound represents the only structurally-characterized example of a ruthenium carbonyl complex containing coordinated tetrahydrofuran.
