The study of cubic YSZ epitaxial layers on sapphire

Epitaxial layers of yttrium-stabilized cubic zirconia (YSZ) are considered to be promising buffer layers in the growth of single-crystal superconducting films on sapphire substrates. The main requirements for buffer layers are morphological and structural perfection and a lack of Al diffusion through the layers from the substrate. The purpose of this work was to obtain YSZ epitaxial layers and to study their properties.
