Energy conservation analysis of pumping systems

This paper, presented at a symposium during ASHRAE's 1975 Semiannual Meeting in Atlantic City, New Jersey, is intended as a conclusive argument in favor of initiating a new, constructive thought process for energy conservation in the engineering profession and its allied trades. Expert back-up by control groups in both piping and variable speed pumping (VSP) technology is needed to help solve any problems in this approach which may not yet have surfaced. Benefits are well worth intensified efforts to make the optimum scheme one that is fully workable, practical, and marketable.
