Micro amounts of ozone (1 to 16 ..mu..g) in the atmosphere are collected by absorption in a solution of alkaline potassium iodide. The iodine equivalent to the concentration of oxidant present in the air released after acidification is determined spectrophotometrically by measuring the absorption of the triiodide ion at 352 nm. Other oxidizing and reducing substances interfere with the determination. (BLM)
