Infrared behavior of the Reggeon field theory for the pomeron. [Renormalization group, perturbation theory, total cross section asymptotic behavior]

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:7354460

The infrared structure of Reggeon field theory is investigated using renormalization group methods. The infrared fixed point where only the phi/sup 3/ interaction is nontrivial is shown to be stable with respect to all higher order interactions within the context of perturbation theory both at D = 2 and in the epsilon-expansion. This may imply that the asymptotic behavior of the total cross section is model independent.
