Maintenance of national ambient air quality standards: summary

The regulations pertain to the analysis and development of plans for air quality maintenance areas (AQMAs), required under 40 CFR 51.12. The regulations specify procedures to be used for estimating future air quality concentrations and for developing new control strategies necessary to ensure the maintenance of the national ambient air quality standards. They specify the approvable form and content of the analysis and State implementation plan revisions required in AQMAs.
