Elastic scattering of protons and the (p. cap alpha. /sub 0/) reaction of /sup 11/B. [1. 8 to 3. 0 MeV, resonances, analyzing power, cross sections]

Elastic scattering of protons and the (p..cap alpha../sub 0/) reaction on /sup 11/B were investigated for incident proton energies between 1.8 and 3.0 MeV. Resonances were found at incident proton energies of 2.0 and 2.6 MeV. Measurements of the angular dependence of the analyzing power of the (p..cap alpha../sub 0/) reaction, using a polarized beam of incident protons, have shown that at least two resonances occur at the incident proton energy of 2.6 MeV.
