Storage facilities for up to 2 million tons of coal are to be provided at Richards Bay. Materials handling equipment will be able to load vessels of 10,000 to 250,000 tons at up to 6,500 tons per hour. Coal exports are expected to expand from 3 percent of South Africa's coal production to about 40 percent. The facilities are described in some detail. (LTN)
