It was established that there is close agreement between the equilibrium concentrations of plutonium calculated with a computer and the values determined experimentally over a wide range of concentrations of HNO/sub 3/, plutonium(IV), and the extractant (TOA.HNO/sub 3/). A computer program was also developed for calculating (with the minimum consumption of time and the minimum effort) extraction equilibria in various other extraction systems to which the mathematical model applies and this was checked on the example of the system Pu(NO/sub 3/)/sub 4/--HNO/sub 3/--TOA.HNO/sub 3/--diluent.
