The asymptotic behavior of the partial scattering amplitude for two nonrelativistic particles t/sub z/ (k, k', k/sup 2/) are examined as a function of the relative-motion momenta k and k' for various forms of the local nuclear potential V(r). One works from the integral Lippmann-Schwinger equation for an arbitrary partial amplitude t/sub z/ (k, k'; z) under the condition that the energy of the relative motion z is k/sup 2/. The various properties of the studied amplitude are determined and discussed. (JFP)
