The San Diego solid waste demonstration plant is designed to convert the organic fraction of municipal solid waste into an oil-like liquid fuel and to recover glass and ferrous and nonferrous metals from the remaining wastes. The new processing and handling techniques are outlined and a process description is given. Proposed testing and evaluation is outlined. (JSR)
