An analysis of the maritime, construction, and cost aspects of Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) plant-ships for deployment in tropical oceans to produce ammonia and other energy-intensive products is given. A concept has been developed for OTEC plant-ships for use at selected sites in tropical oceans to produce energy-intensive products on-board. These platforms will be very stable under normal operating conductions and could serve many other needs.
