Report on the Selby Smelter Commission

As a result of protracted litigation between the Selby Smelting and Lead Co. and the citizens of Solano County, Calif., it was decided to refer to a commission the question whether the Selby company was violating the terms of a court injunction. This bulletin presents the report of the commission and the papers, prepared by the various experts, which give the results of investigations undertaken by the commission and form the basis of its findings. The papers include detailed discussions of the effect of smelter smoke and SO/sub 2/ on vegetation and on horses, and a review of local opinions.
